SINGLES SHINDIG

On Sunday 20th September 2015. The Harvest Committee in collaboration with the Catholic Youths Organization of Nigeria "CYON" Ogba chapter hosted a whole lot of youths, young adults, some parents on the event "Singles Shindig". This program was a platform for all to come and mingle, interact, rest off and catch fun. These goals and objectives were actually brought to reality on the very day the event was histed in the church with an undiluted number of guests that graced the event.

RESPONSIBILITY: A GATEWAY TO SUCCESS BY FR. LEONARD ANYANWU

On Thursday 10th September 2015 at the second day of the parish annual youth retreat, the guest priest and speaker, Rev. Fr. Leonard Anyanwu, gave a talk on the topic ‘Responsibilty, a gateway to greatness’.
Fr. Leonard started by saying, God has called us to live a communal life and that each man must do his own duty to achieve greatness and live a better life.

UNDERSTANDING INTELLECT - WISDOM - KNOWLEDGE: FR. LEO

At the Youth Retreat which commenced on wednesday 9th september 2015, the above subject was discussed and this the following points were addressed holistically:

INTELLECT: From a layman's perspective, this is an aspect or gift from God to his people that gives them the capacity to understand and think of something.
The word intelligent is gotten from Intellect and the speaker Fr. Leo took his time to throw more light on this fact stating carefully with adequate examples that every known being is intelligent including animals.
Fr. Leo even wowed the audience and made them gitter for more explanations when he said thus "Animals use their senses more than human beings". This single thought took almost several minutes for the amazed audience to imbibe immediately especially when Fr. Leo went further to give breath-taking examples that proved his facts right. Going forward, the five senses that were put to test where; sense of feeling, touch, sight, smell, taste.

human beings became intelligent than other beings or animals because of the wisdom that they have and use to control all these beings.

WISDOM: This term talks about the ability, capacity and capability of someone to do things right in a manner that pleases both God and man. It further means following rules and regulations set out by any authority or self at any given time.

TALENT MEANS BUSINESS COMPETITION

Meet the Contestants

The long awaited Talent Means Business Completion organized by YOUCAT fellowship of the Catholic Youth Organization of Nigeria (CYON) Ogba became a reality on Wednesday the 2^nd of September 2015.

This wonderful event which sought to discover raw talents was held at the church hall of OLHR Catholic Church Ogba and had in attendance youths and the religious from Ogba and environs.

The splendid outing was anchored by Obinna Ijeoma and Udoh Leonard.

A total of 12 contestants performed at the event and their choice of talent were from four major categories namely;

            I.            Music

          II.            Comedy

         III.            Dance and Choreography

        IV.            Motivational Speaking
